Topic: Star Ratings Not Being Read From File

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi,

I'm just setting up a new install of VirtualDJ on a new laptop. I've copied all my music over, and scanned all the MP3 files. However, I notice the value in the 'Rating' column is not read by VirtualDJ.

I have rated all my tracks in another media program (MediaMonkey).

Why doesn't VirtualDJ read this tag?

Rating is an internal VirtualDJ database field. Not related with the Rating ID3tag one.

Why not?

Don't you think it should be, so it's compatible with other (tagging) software?

Or maybe someone could make a utility that converts standard ratings to non-standard (VDJ) ratings?

Yes, of course, it should be.
There could be a workaround though using some Plugin (Tool), but cant tell that for sure. Maybe some of the Plugin makers could answer that.

It wouldn't be difficult to make a tool to convert them in either direction.

If you agree that the Rating tag should be treated as a compatible field, does that mean you will add support in the next version? Or should I raise a feature request ticket?

Proper and full tag support has been asked multiple times in the past. Unfortunately our policy is not allowing me to reveal any of the version 8 features.
