so wondering if it'd be possible to use wireless drums from the guitar hero set with vdj i think this might have been touched on some where else in the forums but was cut short because of someone asking ot many questions with out owning pro.Or maybe it sound silly to some but i thought for fun i wanted to hook these up from samples 1-7 for drums and the guitar for samples 8-12. possibly thinking of mapping the whammy bar as a pitch on a deck and route a sample there and use the guitar buttons as a pitch jump or something. Also the strum bar could be used as a loop in function for the sample in which ever deck it's placed in. i believe there's also a pad and more buttons on the controller possibly used to control any other cool ideas that might work. Any info would be very appreciated.

also the guitar has a sensor so when lifted could also change something. Maybe this would play into rewire as well a little better? id like to be able to jam with a few friends for cheap using midi software and my turntables ive got a hercules 4mx with two timecodes a midi controller (novation remote sl 37) and would like to have a friend drum and or trigger samples or something. so i was thinking ableton would rewire into vdj so vdj would record it all. could istil have the ability to have someone triggering samples and automation clips in ableton while im still djing in vdj?

If it acts as standard MIDI or HID device then it should be possible if you write a suitable definition for it.
But you would need to know the specifics of the underlying protocol used, which is probably not published anywhere.
Depending on your technical abilities, tools such as MIDItrace/HIDtrace may be used to help determine this yourself.

don't know about that, but the rockband 3 pro devices can be used as midi controllers natively... and the xbox ones should be easily connectible with a pc as they use standard HID potocol, PS3 have their own protocol that may need to be cracked, or you might need to use intermediary software like bomes to change the messages from HID to midi, just as Ean Golden has done in traktor.
You should realise these are toys and not professional kit by any means, so you may not be greeted well if you try to use them at a club..

these are definetly not going to be used in a club believe it or not i use vdj for more than just turntabilism. trying to program stuff in here has helped me learn more about fl studio but i like vdjs sampler whicch is why i mentioned rewire i was wondering if you can have a couple controller plugged in like two for fl studio for sampling rewired into vdj. vdj would be controlled by a controller as well for turntablisim. Though im looking at these cheap toys, im also looking at getting a stronger mixer to replace my controller i use now as a mixer. i just wanted to setup these midi devices to have a couple buddies over to jam and screw with the controllers. Well if ps3 has its own protocol ill look into a 360 set i was more worried about it not picking up the wireless sets but i guess a companies scripting matters alot more. (on a side note id love to see a dj use this in a club, though it'd have to be someone well respected to pull that off and the idea would only hold its nostalgia for fifteen minutes or so)

unfortunately VDJ is a midi hog and does not like sharing with other programs, this is being addressed in VDJ8 according to the teaser video allowing VDJ to ignore controllers so they can be used in other programs. If your an LUA coder you could get in touch with zestoi from djtechtools who has made midimasher. It basically receives all the midi and can send it to specific software, at present he uses Mixxx with ableton very successfully, but used to do the same with traktor before becoming a Mixxx programmer, and I have been trying to get him to switch over to the darkside of VDJ as his skills in C++ and determination could make some amazing plugins. He's very helpful If he has time.

well i cant wait for vdj 8 to come out:p for now im going to build my own custom midi device and might work on getting the guitar hero equipment to run with vdj im sure as soon as i find out how to run it in here it'll run easily into fl studio and soon enough ill have way to many midi controllers running through vdj 8.

a cool idea i though might be the ability to have a bass in a deck then route the deck to the guittar from guitar hero though i see this beign better minuipulated through fl once vdj 8 comes out since you'd be able to map cut offs and so many other automations like pitch.
