my partner DJ Hype....learning the Stanton DJC.4 controller.......the jog wheel scratch response is trash....but nice little controller that might be going back.....kinda wanna try the reloop terminal mix 2.....better platters

ok...the controller is okay...i like being able to control everything...the layout is nice......the buttons are nice...soft and responsive at the same damn time...lol...effect, sample and loop control are great. But im thinking of sending it back and try the denon mc3000 or the pioneer ergo, i know i wont get complete on point scratching but i want to atleast be able to do a simple juggle or even a crab or 2orbits. seems to be more capable with hose controllers...

crabs depend on the looseness and the cut of the crossfader, I can attest to reloops crossfaders which are made by the same company as the statons... Orbits can be done on anything that you can do a baby scratch on as the key is the timing of the fader, but 2 click orbits need a loose fader aswell... I have never had my hands on the Denon, but pioneers are a little sticky, so it would be harder to pull off.
I would stick with the stanton... It is capable of being used as a soundcard for timecodes in VDJ Pro which if you are wanting to scratch should be considered.

i understand...but its even troublesome to do baby transition scratches...but i do like the timecode option but for those gigs when i dont need heavy scratching i would like to be able to accomplish something.....also in VDJpro can i tweek the jog wheels for tighter control

also does the step per rotation matter at all...cause the djc.4 is 128 steps per rotation

yeah, in Pro you can modify the scratch latency with the registry tool. In regard to the jogs, there is nothing you can do as the ticks per revolution are part of the hardware and firmware. I personally have a Reloop Digital Jockey 2 which has 128 steps and I can scratch on it fine, although I have set the scratch latency very low so there is no perceivable delay.
