I suggest you at least do more than one song even when mashed up since selection is half the work. But whatever you do, just give it your best shot and make sure you can still do it live.

Pick 10 songs, use about 2 mins of each tracks.
Dont yhrow in new techniques in unless you've mastered them and give it 110%.

Make a full cd. 10, 20, 30 min is Not enough. Before you make one, select what tracks are good and just go all out. Make sure the mix is Very good. What you record on that cd is How you play and how your style is.. Mix like its a saturday night party and everyone is having a blast because you are getting busy. Thats how i make my Mixes.

thanks for the advise guys!

make a set of what your going to play and do it live not cut and chopped but what your actuall skills are.

If you do this, make sure you put your name drop on it, or he will use it to fill in, when he does not have a DJ.

@ AMAHM. I always add a drop in mixes. A friend of mine was walking down the Blvd and passed by a lounge. He heard some good music being played and all of a sudden, He heard DJ CalienteNYC and said.. Oh snap.. My friend is DJ iing here tonight. He walks in to look for me and finds out i am not there. Another Dj was playing my mixes.. LOL
