.i'm trying to use vocals+ to make acapella or instrumental samples but whenever i record the sample doesn't retain the effect and just plays the song as if no effects were used. is there anyway to fix this?

VDJ is DJ software. It's not designed to edit audio.
If you need to work with audio, use audio editing software such as Adobe Audition or Steinberg Wavelab.

VDJ doesn't apply effects to the recorded samples at this time, hopefully in the future this is added.

I guess at a pinch you could use the main VDJ record function, then load the result to a sample slot.

the other answer is that vdj takes the samples from the source file not the output from vdj. It actually has a great purpose of being able to record a sample and being able to play it immediately without needing to hear it first.
