Topic: novice dj looking for help

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

My brother and I own a small pizza shop in a small town. We have been providing the local kids with some distraction by hosting a dollar dance night. We Charge a $1 at door and $1 for slices and drinks. Using my laptop connected to my Onkyo receiver, but am interested in the most economical way to improve sound. What things should I be watching for on Craigslist or ebay or even clearance sales. This is a small gig and if we couldn't dj ourselves we couldn't afford to provide this. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!!

Several ways you could go with this depending on budget but bottom line you need Virtual DJ. I would buy a new controller like the Mixtrack Pro or something with a built in sound card thats bundled with VDJ LE.

Because if you buy something used you cant transfer the license so why not start fresh and enjoy the ability of upgrades, support, plug-ins, content unlimited, etc.

You can use a small 2 or 4 channel mixer & external sound card but for another hundred & fifty bucks you can have a portable controller thats plug & play right out of the box with Virtual DJ. Much more fun to use and will get the job done allot better.

A new pair of 12" or 15" powered speakers on stands can set you back $600 & up.

Just my 2 cents... good luck!

On craigslist, You can find cheap powered speakers at a good price. If its simple events, Even a Brand like Gemini will do the trick. I found tons of ads for powered speakers around 250 thru 350 dollars the pair. My friend bought two Gemini powered speakers that I told him to buy for 250. For 250 dollars, They came with tripods, Xlr cables and the bags. He needed them for barbecues and they sound good. I also bought a pair of Alto TS112a powered speakers for 350 in Like new condition.

Please note that you can't use VirtualDJ Home FREE for the event above. It's for non-commercial use only.

Your best option as above is to purchase a controller that comes with VirtualDJ LE included. A selection of popular hardware can be found on the following page: http://www.virtualdj.com/products/hardware.html

Beware of purchasing DJ controllers second hand because the software license for these will usually already be registered (Once registerered, serial numbers can't be transferred)

Thanks Everyone for your input.

herucles rmx is always cheaper and has le with it.. if your talking speakers then its a different game..
