Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

for some reason as easy as it is I can never get it right and I have done it a few times already.

I have my main drive. how do i get new drives to look the same way in VDJ, in other words, my playlists, my virtual folders, all the tracks that I have played, etc work the same way as my main.

Not sure I understand you but, your main drive has the program on it. All other drives, are just content holders. Everything works off of the main drive, and it just uses the other drives to get muisc from. They cannot all have the program on them. If this is not what you are talking about, please explain what you mean.

No, I'm referring to my database. I clearly left that word out in my original post. My mistake. I want the content on my internal drive and backup external drives to work exactly like the original (main) drive.

So, where does the database file originate from? where do I move it to or from?

Here's my trick...

1) Main Drive labeled "W"

2) Backup Drive labeled "W"

sync with a program called Syncback.

The only catch is only one drive can be plugged into the computer to VDJ at the time. If the drive letter of your backup drive comes up different than your main drive go into the part of your computer where you can change the drive letter to your main drive letter. With Windows XP you do that by right-clicking on My Computer than select Manage then Storage then Disk Management and right-click on the drive letter you wish to change to match your main drive letter.

This works for me...may work different for others but this is what works for my on WinXP.

As far as playlists (m3u, etc) those are kept on the C drive in the My Documents folder...I think the key is for those songs to be recalled it is looking for the matching drive letter.

k thats interesting, I'll look into that. Thanks!

Vdj database xml file is found in the root folder of your drive, the filename is "VirtualDJ Local Database v6.xml". Just copy that file to your second drive, and you should be good as long as you music files are the same on both drives.

Or just copy your music files when using virtualdj fom main to external drive.

This will take some time but will have all cues and other stuff with your copy = XML rewrites on secondary drive.
