I was playing at a bar on Saturday night and I started to have error issues.

Here is what happened. I was playing from a playlist that I have played without error before, All the songs in this playlist have played without fail and loaded onto the 2 decks no problem many many times before Saturday. I loaded the same reliable playlist on Saturday in VDJ and VDJ kept taking track out of my playlist when it was on Auto play and when I was playing manually it wouldn't let me load tracks that I had previously played many many times.

I went into my itunes library and songs that had always loaded fine in the past were coming up error. I was able to get through the night. But would like to figure out why the tracks that I have loaded successfully a hundred times was coming up error when I tried to load it this time.
Of all the files I loaded about 40 percent were coming up error.

If anyone could help that would be appreciated

Thanks
Derek

When this happens in VDJ it is because the file is no longer at the same location on your system. If you moved your files or if you changed the name of a folder then this is what would result. Remember that a playlist is similar to a shortcut on your desktop. It is not the actual file but only points to where the file is located at. Those shortcut filenames will not change if you change the location of the actual file or the file folder name. Easy fix is to delete your playlist and make a new one.

Hi James,

Thanks for the quick reply. I seems I have really screwed up my desktop music folders. I have to redo all the playlists. Some of the songs I can now find and play and others not. But I am sure its just as you said and the file locations are a mess.

Thanks Again for the help

After you delete all your playlists you should also right click on all your music folders and remove from search DB. Then Add them back to your search DB. This way at least your database will be reliable and all the songs you search for will load. Do this before making new playlists. This is what is great about VDJ. Even if your files are not organized very well the database will still find your tracks easily when you search for them.

This happen'd to me also. I coulnt find many of my songs and videos when I was playing at the club. When I came home after the gigg I tried again, but the disk (external hdd) would'nt boot up and ask me to format. I have now been working on my HDD, with recovery software for more than week. The boot up file on the HDD disk must have damage or something, so if I was you I would backup everything you can, NOW.
