I know the wait for the latest and greatest has been painful, and the comments made by many concerning the wait are tiring and repetitive.
But some (not all) actions and comments made by staff and moderators has been a bit excessive. Such as the comments moderated and the reply to announce the modration in the link below. Most won't see the slick little jab because it was removed. I read it, was not bad at all, IMO.

I'm fine with the wait, love what I use currently. I hope Atomix has learned a lesson though; when announcing the acquisition of whoever, I've forgotten now, there should have been no mention of specific upgrades or enhancements. Ignorance is bliss, we would have been fine knowing you acquired whoever and that they will further development of future upgrades and enhancements. But, whatever, I'm sure in the future things will be a little more hush hush and updates will be the great surprise they have been in the past.
But, I really dislike the attitude taken lately by staff and moderators. If a comment needs moderated, do it. If a user needs reprimanded, do it. But the nitpicking on every mention of the wait and some of the comments made in reply are unprofessional and immature. I know you guys are as sick of reading the comments as much as I am, but you made this bed with the announcement, now you must sleep in it from time to time. You don't have to stand for the abuse but professionalism in handling it is much more attractive to the rest of us.
Just my thoughts and input, ban me from forum, take me off the radio. As long as I can access the features I paid for I will be satisfied.

Fine contribution & I concurr.
Not only how version-8-comments are moderated, but in general.
How I have come to know this community (in quite a few ... I guess around 10.... years!), a subtle & professional reprimand is usually more than enough to get users back in line.
Also, the members have a tendency to correct one another, so Admin doesn't even need to be so assertive.
Happy spinning.

It was my comment that got edited. Meh, I don't care much, its the internet, who can take that personally. I was poking fun at the Unmentionable topic, I thought it was funny. Some folks didn't oh well. My life goes on as it does every day. LOL

Tim,
I understand your points and since you are talking about me - I have no reservations in pointing it out.
However; if you have been politely asked (publicly and privately) and then you yet continue to make the same snide remarks or try to drum up the same debate over and over again it gets a bit ridiculous - don't you think? Also, what one puts out they should be able to take as well - no?
People want to slam the moderation and/or staff, but what are those same people doing to help make the over all 'tone' of the forum better? People just want to continue to make drama, bring up topics that have been exhausted in discussion, take personal shots without being personal by name, and overall keep a negative 'tone' about the forums and the software going. And where does any of this get anyone to have a positive image about the product or the users of the product - no where.
No matter what the topic it is always the staff or the moderators that get the blame and in some regard that is a good thing to keep the focus there. But, it seems I always end up coming back to: What are the 'users' doing to make a difference? So its it just the user's purpose to complain, be a negative voice, and drum up drama? Or, is it also the user's responsibility to help and assist to provide that POSITIVE tone and image? What has your post done with regard to this 'issue' - Positive or Negative tone to the forum?
Are my bedside manners perfect - no. Do I get on edge at times - sure. But, do I consistently come into every thread and bash a user from day 1 or make derogatory comments about 'x topic' just to drum up some attention or controversy - NO.
So, cool - got your point. Glad you were able to get it off your chest.
And just so things are clear - if this turns into another version 8 discussion - then yes it will be locked. So, let's stay on topic if that is what you would really like to talk about.

Chris,
I definitely DO NOT want to talk about V8. I do not doubt that you have had your fill of the slamming, I have too. My only concern, really, is keeping VDJ, Atomix and the great staff above the ravel that kicks up the dust in the first place. I've sunk down and popped off a time or two as well. It's fun sometimes.
I could have posted much more and really let lose if I were to look the other direction and call out the posters of such comments. But you know how well that works. Hoping to remind the "good guys" that they ARE the "good guys".
Keep up the great work, you got my support 100%

I've seen threads like this pop up a few times over the years. Perhaps a direct PM to the moderator/teamer the user is concerned about is a more productive way to accomplish voicing displeasure. Threads like this usually degrade into a general bitch session. Which, helps further bring down the vibe of the forums even more. Just my two cents.....

You're right, Terry, maybe better person to person. My intentions are not to bitch, honestly trying to be constructive.
Feel free to lock this up or level it up or both.
