I Really love VDJ , I'm a beginner DJ and I have my first gig coming up, I have been interning with a local DJ (who uses VDJ), and it has been a great experience. He's very old simple with his DJing, but very helpful and encouraging. I'm learning how to blend and mix, he really loved the mixing added into his sets when I intern with him. He doesn't mix or blend his song.
And when I tried to scratch the sound quality wasn't up to par. I know VDJ 7.4 updated the sound quality, but it still needs work in my opinion. So far as Mix cds I'll be doing and gigs that require me to really get down on the ones and twos, I decide to go with serato the sound quality is so great when Im sratching and mixing. Overall I still think VDJ is better when it comes to options, but I'm hoping VDJ 8 steps it up when it comes to sound quality. I know alot of DJ gigs will not require mixing and scratching, so I'll be rolling with VDJ.
Does anyone out there feel like I feel right now?
I know alot of successful DJ using VDJ, just ran into one at the Guitar Center, and he has a very big Business, but when I got to talking about scratching and mixing he said he really don't care to do it. Like the guy im interning with he has alot of customers , but dont care to mix.
Overall I'm using serato to do mix cds and whenever I want to show off my djing skills.
Also Serato came free with my NS6, Im just so used to VDJ I get lost.lol

EDIT ----------------------------------------------------
disregard this post, I just noticed you have an NS6, there is a problem VDJ when using this controller. Your probably better off with Serato for now
-----------------------------------------------------------
Get the registry tool and change the 'default scratch latency' to 1020.
if that doesn't work disable the master tempo/keylock, or put VDJ into pure scratch mode in config => performances.
All these things will improve the scratching performance, but everything works great on my system with only the default scratch latency changed

Speaking about this real quick, is VDJ good with the Numark 4TRAK or the Traktor S4? Because I'm really tempted to switch. I know nobody likes a guy who switches but I'd still use VDJ and stay on this forum. Would VDJ work good with these? Thanks. Also back to rickslickchi's post. Personally, I mix all the time, but never scratch. There's no need to in the genre of music I like.

hang on a sec... the NS6 is fine... I was thinking of the NS7 with spinning platters, Try the above and you should be good.
