Topic: Lighting a room correctly?

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Couldn' edit Subject - Should have said, "Lighting the dance floor correctly". I've been DJing for many years now and I don't think this topic has ever come up or maybe it's not important to most. When I set up an event I always try to set my light effects up around the room to create a better show. Most pics I see online of mobile set ups Is the lighting on a truss above the DJ. Honestly, the only people that see the effect of the lighting are you and the few that are actually dancing closest to the side of your installation. Almost zero effect if you don't use smoke or haze to add to the effect. (Real Haze and a smoke machine are 2 different things incase your not sure). Another subject one day!! I know it's more work to set your lighting up on both sides of the dance floor but during the night if you get a chance to do a walk around you will understand better of what I'm talking about. People sitting at the event around the dance floor(especially opposite of you) don't actually see the effect bouncing off dancers bodies. Having lights facing the dance floor(opposite of you) will create a cooler atmosphere for the folks sitting in the background and will add to the pics that they take.

Like I said, it doesn't sound like an interesting subject for most as I see no input from other mobile DJ's. For me it's very important. DJing or playing music is primary at a gig but Lighting the dancefloor correctly is secondary to me but almost just as important. I'm definetly not new at DJing and the music come naturally to me but I continue to look at other angles to increase my business and make my apperence better everytime.

I look at it two ways, there is dance floor lighting for the dance floor when no one is on the dance floor then there is dance floor lighting for a packed dance floor.
You can use many different lighting effects for a empty dance floor to entice people to dance and call attention to the area you would like people to dance on, but after the dance floor is filled up it is best to use color changing wash lighting to wash and flash the crowd with color. The other effects can now be used for the ceiling and walls.

This is great input. What would you use to hang them around though?
