I use a 128gb SSD. It was a reliabilty choice (shock, magnets, etc). Still need a big conventional drive for the storage. I do ALLOT with the OS drive, so 128 should be ok for W7. I am close, but it has never limited me.
I run a Crucial brand one, think it was M4, pretty happy overall but no real performance gains running SATA 2.

I use a 120GB Samsung SSD for my operating system (W7) and VDJ drive. Can't fault it. boots quickly and never had a problem.
Highly recomended :-D
I still use 3 7200RPM 1TB Seagate drives for storing my music and video but hope to replace them with SSD units ASAP!

I found out that early Win 7 install discs did not have SSD drivers. Because of that, the install put my MBR on my second conventional drive. All was fine and OS was on the SSD. until I went to upgrade that second drive. Then my PC did not boot because the MBR was gone! [Laughing], there is a fix that a friend did for me, but just a warning.
You may need to get the drivers in order to solve this or a Win 7 SP1 install disc. I heard they added SSD drivers native in the Win 7 SP1 discs.
Just a warning, forgot all that happened over a year ago now.
