In the past few days I noticed that searching was not as before.
Example: Searching drive for a particular tune results in a bunch that are different names.
I need to scroll down until the one I searched is found.
Now when I search a particular folder for a tune, nothing appears.
If I search the entire drive it appears. In addition it indicates the tune
is in the folder I searched.
I did a check clean and fix. still no good.
Any suggestions??

maybe your database is all wacked. you would wipe the database and rescan it. That might help your situation?
Has your hard drive's destination changed Ie. from say D:\ to E:\
that has caused me great issues with searches and loading files in other software in the past.

I changed the user name on the computer, and it is now working.
I don't not understand why, since it was fine.
Why would changing the user name make a difference?

Because of where the database is stored.
In Windows 7 the database is in C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Documents\VirtualDJ
If you change the user name then it becomes C:\Users\SOMETHING ELSE\Documents\VirtualDJ

That's the weird part though.
This system has been working fine until the external drive crashed.
Copied the entire backup drive, that's when this started.

Ah....only now you mention an external drive!
So is the music (and therefore the database) on an external drive?

Next time I put the gun in my mouth, I will make sure that it is loaded. This is just too funny. Glad you got it to work.

A Man and His Music
LOL
Never had this problem when I made a back up of drive before.
Actually found out about the name change by accident.
Thanks
