Topic: Mixdeck Recording Routes

Whats up, I'm here today to ask about alternate ways to record besides going through audacity (I literally hate audacity).
I have a Lexicon USB Recording Interface, and was wondering if I could use the Line In's on it, and record through ableton. If you have another method that you think would work better let me know! I would really appreciate it!

No, it doesn't appear to have an input for audio - it only records from the mic.

You need something you can feed from the 'record' RCA output of the Mixdeck.

Here's another way if you want to record using the same computer you're playing from. My advice would be to use dedicated recording hardware though - I'm old skool...

Alright well how do you think this would work?

Computer ---> Mixdeck ---> Lexicon Lamba ---> USB into Computer

I too have a mixdeck and I just use an old iPod I was given. I have recorded a hour and a half mix on it before. Really just depends on how long you want to record for. I snyc the iPod to iTunes, convert it to MP3, then open it with Audacity and fix it up a little bit. I don't know much about Abelton but if you an import a song to it then it should work. I am pretty sure you can live record with Abelton so it should work just the same. I am only recording my mixing and have not tried to use the Mic or anything as I don't think that will be recorded. If your just looking to record you mix then use an iPod (don't think it works with an iPhone anymore) as a voice memo. Might be a bit of a mess around but it works for me.
