Topic: Error when loading FLAC file

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Hi,

I have been trying to drag and drop a FLAC file to a deck, but it just loads with 'Error' in the trackname area. I am using VDJ7 and have associated the .flac extension with both the OOG Decoder and General Windows MediaPlayer Audio Decoder.

Is there something else required to load FLAC audio?

Not sure what you mean. The file is in the same place on my Harddrive after i drag it onto the deck.

Flac files are supported and there is no need to change/add the codec. Use the General Internal Audio Decoder

Thanks, using the Internal Decoder has at least allowed it to load the file!
However the sound is very weird...

1. Left Speaker is a constant hissing sound.
2. Right Speaker plays the music at a very low tempo, and is pitched down as well.

The FLAC files are 24-bit 44.1 kHz lossless FLAC audio format. Is another setting required to play them correctly?

Change them to 16 bit 44.1 (CD standard) and they will work fine.

Ah yes that seems to do the trick. I do have a lot of music in this format. Will there likely be support for 24-bit FLAC formats in future?

Where are you getting these files from? There isn't very much commercially available in that format (aside from specialist stores for hi-fi enthusiasts).

If you're ripping from CD then using 24 bit is pointless as CDs are 16 bit.

If you're ripping from vinyl at that quality you'd need an absolutely killer turntable/cartridge/pre-amp to record that much detail, and an equally world class playback system to hear it.

Not the sort of setups typically used by DJs.
