I was told by a friend to get an external hardrive and transfer al my files from the internal harddrive. I was wondering if I do that would I lose all my cue point/database or if there is a way to keep the database

In order to keep your cues/bpm data etc you will have to move the files from inside VirtualDJ's browser.
Otherwise you can "move/copy" your database but you'll have to do a lot of manual editing.
