Hello All
New here so apologies if this has been asked before but i cant seam to find the answers i need.
I have been using VDJ for a while now and other than a few very small gripes am really satisfied with the software, i use the 4-mx Hercules console and this setup is perfect for occasional mixing of all tunes, however i've started to create more of my own tracks using Ableton live 9 and while the finished tunes can easily be mixed the normal way id very much like to be able to run ableton with the Novation launchpad alongside VDJ and play scenes and phrases while mixing on the console.
I've read up on the rewire way but cant get that to work, i assign the rewire input to deck 4 but ableton 9 wont load up in rewire slave mode as the manual states. So that my first problem, the second that is i've read here that ableton wont work with the launchpad while in slave mode.
Have i read this correctly, also any ideas on what i could be doing wrong getting the rewire thingy to work?
How could i go about setting things up so i can achieve what i want to do so that ableton can play loops, phrases and scenes in perfect time while i mix.

The important thing with ReWire is to ensure that both programs (in this case Live and VDJ) are the same "bit version".
As VDJ is only available in 32 bit then you also need to run the 32 bit version of Live.

how are you doing any of this without a licensed copy of virtual dj?

I've got a licensed copy with the hercules console, but as mentioned in the first reply its the bit issue. I spose i might have to give mixing with ableton a go.

Rewire is good on paper, but in all honesty - I'm rooting for something less problematic to come from someone else then Propellerheads. Maybe Steinberg?
Also, seeing the feature set for Virtual DJ 8, the functionalites will hopefully make my need for integration with Ableton/FL Studio become less interesting. So, Virtual DJ 8 better happen soon! (just kidding, I will wait patiently for it to drop like everyone else)
