You can't. Icons for hardware only appear when the software they come bundled with included Virtual DJ.
Even them some hardware doesn't have a hardware icon- just a VDJLE icon.

Yeah right. I got an NS7 and Denon mc-3000. Neither show up.

Pretty sure the NS7 came with Itch??
The Denon MC3000 came with Virtual DJ LE in the US and Traktor LE in Europe - i beleive.
If you did get VDJ bundled with your controller then you need to register the LE software to your account. Then you will either get the controller icon or you will get a Virtual DJ LE icon.
You can register additional serial numbers here
To confirm the MC-3000 does have an icon rather than the LE icon:
