Topic: Basic question - mixing without a MIDI controller

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Good evening guys, until now I was mixing recreationally with a Pioneer Ergo DDJ controller. Now that the new VDJ 8 skin is quite nice, I think that I would like to mix directly without a controller as I don't think that Sandbox is available with DDJ (unless I need to download a new skin). I was wondering which audio settings I should apply in the configuration settings and if I need to buy an external sound card between my external mixer (Numark M8) and my laptop? If it is the case would have any suggestions? One last question, when I was using VDJ 7 pro, my iTune playlists were appearing as there are in my iTune library, now VDJ 8 is changing the order automatically and they appear by artist, BPM, remix. etc...! Is there a way to keep them as they are in my iTune library? Thanks and have a good weekend, Jeff.

Check your sound settings - if your Ergo receives two stereo channels of audio in the form of master and headphones from VDJ (I'm fairly sure it does) then there should be no reason why you can't use Sandbox. Take your pick of the new v8 skins!

As Sherz says it should work - but it needs to be a 2 deck skin to working properly though.

Thanks guys, what I meant I guess is that in the former Ergo DDJ VDJ 7 skin, there is no sandbox function obviously....let's hope that when someone will map a new VDJ 8 Ergo skin, it will include the sandbox functionality. Cheers, Jeff
