I've used VDJ for a few years, I love this skinability the video and able to use any controller but Id throw it all in the garbage for Perfect timecode and post fader effects, I dont know what type of djs your beta testers are or if anyone in the company is a dj, but a faithful user and Dj there is alot of things i dont think you guys were thinking like djs. I truly think you should round-table some DJs and redesign this supposed to be "Game Changer", seem to have been lipstick on a pig. Im still making money with it so im still here but i still hunger for the power that i can see but is not being utilized. For instance when a true Dj thinks effects it will always be post fader, why? because before software if we wanted certain effects you bought an effects processor and a mixer with send/return or a mixer with effects onboard even then the delays and echoes where post fader 90% of the time. So did every remaining Top dj software. Timecode is self explanatory, Turntables will always be the core of DJing, they will never disappear, They're even pressing new music to records again. I know the next comment will be well get you feel works better...and so i will. But ya got the money so it dont matter right, just one old school turntable dj dont matter...hate having to use 2 softwares, why cant you guys get it right.

Unfortunately, the market is moving more and more towards controllers and even HID activated stuff, like the CDJ2000's. Companies develop for what's hot. If 9 out of 10 DJ's in the world strictly used time code (TCV or CD's), then the time code engine would have to be rock solid on just about every software out there. But because a ridiculous amount of DJ's are now moving into controllers, that's pretty much all you will see for development. Hell, when even the almighty Serato starts focusing more and more on the controller market, that's when you know things are going south for time code. Those of us dinosaurs who still love to rock out on TT's will either have to just use 2 types of software (VDJ for controllers, Serato or Traktor for TC) or just wait patiently for VDJ to get their issues straight and fix the TC engine so we dont have to switch back and forth.

I'm making an optical encoder disk and pick up to spin on a TT that's the way forward in my mind.

While VDJ and its users feel like that, but serato mixvibes and traktor are making sure until that day come we will be able to feel at home on there softwares, with spot on timecode.

I wouldn't say things are going south for timecode just because serato started focusing on controllers. If serato didn't program for controllers then vdj and traktor would be getting all that money - think it was just a business decision on their part.

It is not like companies stop making turntables either - just technics. New turntables are still coming out :http://www.reloop.com/reloop-rp-8000.

Controller are light, portable and good for certain scenarios but they won't replace turntables.

And there are organizations like :http://www.dmcdjchamps.com/index.php - that still keeping the turntable culture alive.

Aye it was a sad day when I heard that the technics stopped doing TTs but it makes sense what with the drive patent expiring and the machine tooling being at the end of it's life.
So TT's in general are getting better.

Somebody tell Atomix that...they dont seem to get it.

i think we all need to be grateful that they even hear our feedback and fix the problems we find.
i for one use vdj8 as often as possible so that all the bugs can get reported and added to the to be fixed list.
also this means for gigs i cant afford to have issues on i will be using vdj7 ... probably best to not forget it exists and for the most part is rock solid in all aspects of its intended use.
I'm sure vdj8 will get there but there are so many combinations of hardware that can be used with it who could possibly test them all before release.
anyways i think the staff deserves a round of applause for all that they put up with from us the users :-)

You got it real backwards - it is a business - if they don't hear our feedback and fix the problems - they will just be a buggy software which falls out of existence - we need to be grateful for nothing - this is not the only dj software to choose from.

Either they make good software or customers go elsewhere.

As for the staff getting a round of applause - again its a business - which the staff get paid - and those who don't get paid, volunteered - if the company makes good software - customers are happy. If not, then they will deal with the complaints.
