Afternoon all,
First off apologies if this is in the wrong place. Last night I downloaded Virtual DJ Home and was having a play about till 2am this morning and then pretty much all today as I'm on leave from work at the moment. I just have a quick question about what is classed as DJ'ing in other DJ's eyes. Basically all I've done is took about 10 songs and just merged them into one as my first effort, bring each song in at the end of the other so there is no silence at the end of tracks and on a couple I was swapping between 1 song to another but only need this once or twice on the one I recorded this afternoon.
Would this be classed as DJ'ing to others? Or is it just copying other music?
Cheers

So long as there was some thought into why the next track should follow the current track that's dj'ing, basic but it is,
It's just another art form, da vinci did paintings and my 3 year old niece does paintings too, the former more intricate than the latter but it's still painting.
Welcome to the game.

Yeah I know what you mean mate, there was some thought that went into the order as I was looking at how many BPM each song had and played them before hand and swapped the order around. As say it's like the first sort of DJ'ing I've ever done and hopefully won't be the last

I'm with Loco on his thoughts (very well put !) you don't need all the effects, samples etc etc to be a DJ you just need to play music your crowd want to hear and in most cases dance to in my humble opinion.
