Topic: Often played together script??

Hi

I'm sure I read somewhere a while ago that VDJ could look at the track you're playing and offer some suggestions about the next track you could play? I would imagine VDJ would look at the history file and list all the tracks I'd previously played after it. Is this the case or did I dream it!?

It's quite frustrating when you're playing something and think, " Aah, i played a good one after this a couple of months back, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. now I'll need to go through the history, try and find the date it could've been and scan through the playlist" not a good plan when you've only got 4 mins and there's a chance you could eat up 3 mins searching for an elusive track!

This is called Live Feedback.
It isn't a local function. It requires an internet connection and provides suggestions from other DJs.
(But don't know what the source of this suggestions is)

Ah but Live Feedback is based on what OTHERS have played. DJ Lee wants VDJ to remember tracks that he played himself.
 
I know, and I wrote exactly that in my next sentence ;)

So to answere his question: No, currently there is no such function.
 
Thanks for your comments here guys, I'm not sure why I thought it was a VDJ function? I was thinking about this further last night and might design something in excel using VBA that looks at the history folder and searches depending upon what track title I enter.

If I'm successful I'll post a link to my creation!

Perhaps a development in VDJ8?
 
 
But doe it work with 8 or is that even. Factor here??
 
The really comes down to proper tagging of files.

If you tag you files correctly you should be able to find whatever songs you are looking for - even after a couple of months

You can use the :
Star Rating system
Color code files
Comment field
Grouping field
Year field
Genre field
Custom field
 
Not Long ago we had something called Genius (I think in Version 6?).
This was a nice feature, what did exactly this.
The songs suggested based on your own history. I would be glad, if we could get it back.

In the Manual you could read this:
GeniusDJ – shows recommendations from your own library based on what you are currently playing.

Look in the Manual:

If it was offline, this statement would be totally wrong.
But since it came from the support, either the manual is wrong or the support
