Topic: New to Virtual DJ...soon to be

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I am in the process of changing systems and currently looking at virtual dj as my program. I currently use a competitor that is not compatible with the new system. I currently dj weddings...no clubs. If I purchase Pro Infinity am I updated daily like the competitor or do I need to purchase Pro Subscriber and/or Content Subscription? What are the pros and cons with Virtual DJ?

Pro and Subscriber are the same thing BUT Pro you pay big ($300US) once and you're updated for free, Subscriber you pay small ($20) monthly.
Updates at the moment appear there about every two week BUT this is only for beta development, when things calm down it's usually 1-2 (feature) updates a year, security updated as and when needed.

Content Subscription is music/video DRM service

VDJ
Pros the most free and adaptable, for controllers for skins for VST(e)s & for mapping. Decent forum support as long as you stay polite. Pay for pro Pay just once!
Cons, there's a lot of technical aspects If you care to make your own skin or heavily remap a controller, there are written guides but you have to at least basically understand them and ask intelligently before people help, Childish requests like

" I don't know anything but I want you to tell me how to skin"
These kind of requests are pointed at the guides and quietly ignored
(it's painful to explain to people whom don't read the manuals)

Oh and we can say traktor or serato, it's no problem here.

Since you're a wedding Dj, the biggest advantage of VirtualDj for you is it's database and search facility...
Compared to the other two main competitors, VirtualDj's database and search functionality is second to none.

As for the rest of your questions:
VirtualDj get's updated on a frequent basis. As with any software there's no update timeline or "regular" update interval, but we can ensure you that it won't come down to 1-2 updates per year... ;)
Updates are both, bug fixes, and new features / improvements at the same time.
All updates are FREE, and they are for lifetime (This means that as when VirtualDj 8 arrived and all VirtualDj 7 PRO Full users got it for free, the same will happen with future versions as well)
As Locodog explained, PRO Infinity and PRO Subscriber have exactly the same features. Their only difference is their pricing model.
