On two occasions I've had this happen so far. Last Friday night I played at a local bar where I bring my own full system...so, when it's time to use the mic I plug into my rmx, hit the mic button and its nothing but some interference type of noise (used backup mixer for mic).

Next day I play at a different bar where I use the house system..all I bring is rmx controller and basic cables. I plug in mic and all works fine as it should.

I have a simple basic setup. Both issues were at the same bar I play Friday nights. Any ideas anyone?

Mic could be on the way out?

Hmm. As soon as I heard the interference I disconnected mic.. I plugged into my pa mixer that I always have connected and mic worked. Used the next day at different location and worked just fine plugged into rmx controller.

I thought it might be an issue with location...

Dodgy cable? I don't know mate.

Well I think the only way it could be the location is if your mic is wireless. I had some issues with some wireless mics in a busy city. Needless to say I had to buy new microphones just for that city that had more than 99 channel options. If it is not a wireless mic I don't know what could be the problem. Try swapping out cables or a microphone. Process of elimination my friend
