That's why it's really difficult to get a venue to recommend you to their clients (at least here it is). Even if you rock the party, there's no guarantee you will be able to do that every time. If a client isn't satisfied with the DJ the venue recommended, the venue could have a huge problem.
I get a lot of venues asking for business cards so they can recommend me, but it rarely leads to more than a few bookings a year from one particular venue.
