When using the ALT+(NUMBER KEY) command to go to a cue point, it treats all the cues as strictly cues, even though many of mine as set as loops.
Am I missing something?

Yes, that's normal.
For VirtualDj hotc_cues are different from saved loops
So triggering a hot_cue will not load a saved loop. You need to use "loop_load" or "loop_load_prepear" to work with loops
