I've used both setup styles not the exact setup but been neither had the capabilities of what I'm looking to get.
Old setups:
2x Numark ICDX
Rane ttm 57sl
Numark NS6
New Setups:
2x Gemini CDJ 700
Same Rane 57sl mixer
or
Numark NV
Anyone worked with these products or have any insight on them. I would appreciate any feedback. Gonna get one of the other.

Might help if you share the capabilities you are hoping to get from your new options that your old gear did not provide.

All I really do is mix and scratch so the new functions don't really concern me all that much even though i'd like to play with the new buttons on the NV for the rollouts and what not but just I guess in general preference would y'all prefer old school setup two tables and a mixer or the all in one controller? and if not those two products is there any suggestion on something for a moderate price range which I take good care of my gear I buy new stuff about every 5 years as you can see big time lapse.

Another thing is I have to update to VDJ 8 with both of these products I believe. And now I'm having to update my mac to be compatible etc just one big headache at the moment.

You mix and scratch - split how?
If scratching is not a major part of what you do then the NV is a good controller. The jog wheels are pretty small though, so if scratching is a big part of what you do then that may be an issue.

I've noticed the pads are a little bit smaller than the ns6 which proficiently was great for scratching and had a great crossfader selection which I don't think the NV has which even with all the practice i can't solidly scratch with one hand so i would change crossfader to keep it in the same direction.
Granted it's not the biggest part of the show but it adds creativity with it and maybe the NV is where I should lean at and use the new technology to enhance things, but thats what I loved about the 4 deck system I could program samplers from songs verses now assigning them but I guess once I get some practice on it it should come second nature.
