I hoped for a better result from the 8 at this time... http://djtechtools.com/2015/11/16/key-detection-software-comparison-2015-edition/

Beware!
Shysters at work.
This survey made no reference to VDJ 8's ability to switch detection modes to accommodate radically different song types.
I doubt they even know it exists.
Don't trust them.
Using MIK reduces the frequency range of your songs, and hence the quality.

Ahem! If they don't know the mode exists, how can they possibly be "shysters"?
Ignorant maybe......but disreputable, unethical, or unscrupulous?
Using MIK does nothing to the audio of your tracks. It only writes (if you enable it) data to certain tags. Don't be a shyster yourself, Ron!

Ron, that's a load of rubbish. All MIK does is write tags.

I think Ron is confused between MIK and Platinum Notes (which does change the tracks).

Hm I might have, I've only just found this thread.
Let me have a read.

Fair enough.
I was wrong.
I won't delete this line since mistakes happen
"Using MIK reduces the frequency range of your songs, and hence the quality."
..and I have learned a little !
I might now buy MIK !

I don't think there's much point in buying it to use with VDJ 8, as any keys it writes will get ignored/erased/overridden by VDJ 8 when it does its analysis thing.
I guess you could in theory write the MIK key info to another tag, but then it's not the correct tag and it won't get shown as the key when a track is loaded.
Boo, hiss Atomix. :-(

I can write to the comments, and display that in the VDJ browser rather than key.
Easy.
Easy.
