Over the years i use v8 connected wif my external harddrive is fine but recently whenever i connect with external hardrive, it keep pop out the "database root error" and ask me whether fix or not fixed. i chose fix it now and i lost all my cues point and all the musics in my hardrive is not even load in v8. it need to reload tags and rerun again everytime i connect to my harddrive in order to load the music in it. can anyone tell me what suppose can i do to fix this problem? sorry for the bad english.

It's possible that your hard drive is failing, the USB cable is bad, the port on your computer is bad, etc. There is a small possibility that the database can not be written to due to permissions.
Is this with PC or Mac?
Do you have another USB cable or port to test with?
Does it happen every time you plug in the drive
Has any hardware changed?
Did something get upgraded recently?

I experience this before where I inserted the external drive THEN boot up up the software/ turn on the computer. A message came up stated "your files are corrupted" and yes or no to fix. Clicking no and your files will be fine. I lost all saved cue points and had to do them over now I keep a backup copy.
