Topic: CD's again.

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I traveled light with just a MC3000.
No one told me about the drag artist who wanted me to play his backing CD.
My laptop DVD drive just about held, but it was uncomfortable.

Very rare that I bring my CDJs at gigs but I still get that situation every once in a while.
My workaround: I always copy the CD first (make a new crate of it) and play from the copied files.

I haven't had a CD drive for a couple of years now. Should be up to the venue or organiser to let you know of any additional requirements up front.

My main gig laptop (2014 Macbook) doesn't have a CD drive too.
The back up laptop (2011 Macbook) does the copying.

I've always had a cd drive in my desktop, and now that I use a laptop, it has one also. I just do not accept cd's, iphone, ipods, flash drives, or anything else from guest to play at my gigs. I tell them that I have no way of hooking up anything they have. I get all request before hand, and my clients know my policy. Either I have it or get it from content unlimited, or will buy it (but it has to be something for the client). I just don't have time to be bothered with selfish people. I truly believe that if it was that important, I would have it.

If it's their content that they can give permission, I would rip the CD with iTunes. Other then that, it's usually a Karaoke track that I have or can get during the gig.
I mix out of my coffin case with CDJ's, but would still rather have the music on the PC.
I have had no issues or fears using the laptop drive for playback or ripping while DJ'ing from the same PC.
Glad it worked out for you.
