I don't use a SX but I use a DJM 850 with a set of CDJ 850 with El Cap for months now and haven't had any problems.
Check the Pioneer site and make sure you have the right drivers and you should be good to go.....

The SX is core audio so you shouldn't have any issues. It's the controllers that need drivers that there could be an issue.

In all honesty there's really no need to update. I'd still be on Mavericks but when I bought this Mac El Cap was already installed.
If theres something from El Cap that you just can't live without don't update because theres really no need.
