Hi! I just noticed when searching for some tracks that some of them just dont show up, although they are in the library.
I made some screenshots to explain. Although the tracks from the artist "Nils Frahm" are all in the playlist, searching for the artist name does not show a result. Checking with another song from "Lambert" works fine. You can also see that the search settings are fine. The songs are all AAC files, not protected. They all play fine.
I am using VDJ 8.1 build 2857 on Mac (El Capitan).
Any ideas?

Hi Sound&Silence,
have you tried enabling the search in laufwerk?

Hi Raypitman,
yes I tried, no change. The songs dont show up. The only difference I find in the files are that they have a higher bitrate, but I doubt that that causes the problem, as they play fine in VDJ.
Also opening the track editor, changing something and saving again does not solve the problem.

ok, just noticed that Frahm is only in the pfad, not in the datei name ...
so enable search in dateipfad and try it all again ;-)

It happens to me too, I thought that it was because not all my database is analysed. Never happened in v7 thus (not entirely analysed either). At a point I was thinking v7 was searching on disk where v8 was searching the database only. But maybe it's a bug finally.

Ah... I think I have nailed it down, at least a part...
I noticed that the tracks were not added to the database. When I manually add them they show up in the search.
BUT, I have analyzed their BPMs and Tags so I assumed they are automatically added to the DB. As the manual states:
Notes.
- Analyzing tracks will automatically add them to the Search DB
For some reason this did not happen.
While the underlying problem remains, I now know what to do when I cant find tracks the next time.
Thanks for your help guys!

Just change the option "autoSearchDB"
and all files browsed files will be added to the database.
