Topic: Content Unlimited illegal?

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I regularly stream to some members of a virtual online community, and the issue was recently brought up about the legality of Content Unlimited music being used for this purpose. I am being told that the sources of these files are exactly like ripping from youtube. Is there anyone who can shed some light and/or offer up ways for me to make a case against these allegations?

I think whoever has told you this is basing things on outdated info...

The CU content used to be supplied by Grooveshark. Now they were certainly in a grey area as regards legality. Their content was supplied by the users of the service, so basically uploaded and shared by the public - just like the original Napster etc.

However, the new Content Unlimited subscription service is supplied by some sort of DJ pool.

The product page for content unlimited states it is legal here: http://www.virtualdj.com/products/contentunlimited.html

Maybe they're getting mixed up with Netsearch ..... whether it is legal to play in certain situations is a grey area I guess as it uses publicly available material.

Im more interested in the source of these files, as in who provides them. I know they are different between the actual CU files and the Netsearch files.

Maybe VDj will have this PCDJ has it,and this may make the cost of CU more. Rock what you have for the price, but DONT base all your music with this online DJ pool if you don't pay NO music.

I do not want this to become a moral issue of where Djs get thier tracks. Id just like to know where the tracks come from.

Do a search on these forums, you must realise this subject has been done to death.

You require the information, it is all here to retrieve, go find it.

Sorry to sound so blunt but there is no way to sugar coat the answer you are looking for.

As stated, VJPro provides the video portion.
