as far as i can tell, the NVII has really minor changes compared to the MKI. They have added the ability to toggle between BPM/Key in the Browser section, added gridlines (CBG) to the Scratchwave and some changes on the color of the jogs.
Everything i have seen as "new features" in the "Discover" is just a matter of different mapping - already available in VirtualDJ - so those still dont justify a MKII version for me. And such a pitty to the MKI users that have to upgrade just to get those minor features.

The big difference may be to some more locks on the firmware to prevent VirtualDJ from supporting this unit from day 1.

Kinda shitty deal for the guys who just picked up this unit but it is what it is....

Well as I said in another thread ......

A) If you want to stick with VDJ as your software of choice then you must check to see if a controller is either supported by VDJ or if it is locked to Rekordbox or Serato before purchase.

B) If you want the latest shiny shiny then either accept you will have to use alternative software or wait for it to (possibly, eventually) be supported by VDJ.

The landscape is changing so these options now seriously have to be considered. Things aren't as simple now as they were a couple of years ago. The hardware support guys do a superb job but if their hands are tied .......

If Chris had still been with Atomix he'd have been round to see Numark and Pioneer with a baseball bat by now :)

This is why ill never leave my turntables or cdjs alone......

And yeah I miss Chris, he was a straight shooter and an all already good cat. Had the pleasure of meeting one summer at Virginia beach. He came up to the hotel and meet my whole family. We hung out for a while and chatted it up. Great time.

I had his number but its been changed since then.

Either way if you stick with turntables they can't switch things up on you like this.

I'm really surprised controller DJs put up with this crap and not just from Numark but Pioneer as well. After all if we quit buying this stuff they loose, right??

Absolutely. I had been 99% certain of getting the MCX8000 just as a home use backup controller but if they are going to play dirty tricks like this then they can stick it.

Maybe I have been out of the loop, however Anson left Atomix? (I didn't work with him much.)

I really missed Chris Anson tutorial on VDJ. Is he really gone from virtual dj?

Chris Anson still works here. The posts above are referring to Chris Stoll I believe.

Ah, understood!

Good to know.

If they don't support the software that I use, I will not buy their equipment. I like the potential of the 8000, but still have my money in my pocket, and still make money without it.

I have a second 6000, and was looking at a 3rd. I have a RMX2 that I leave at the health club (along with the other equipment, no elevator to the floor I play on). The truth is I don't need another controller, I just want one. I am perfectly capable of separating the two. I also use a Launchpad S, and a Pioneer RMX1000, so I am good to go, until someone puts out a controller that works for me, I don't care about anyone else.

Anyone know of a Skin for my NV?

lul

I just picked up an NVii at the DJExpo in Atlantic City.

Looking to get it mapped and supported by virtual. The documentation on Numark's website indicates that this already exists but I can't find it.

Anybody have any luck yet? If not, is there a place to check for updates to be sure I know as soon as something becomes available?

Thanks!
