That'll be the MCX8000 without screens, and not that much cheaper either. The one big advantage over the Pioneer controllers is that it has two dedicated mic channels.
We really need an up to date compact replacement for the MC6000 though. Again this is too big as it is (width x depth x height): 664mm X 378.2mm X 68.2mm where the MC6000 is (width x depth x height) 460mm X 315mm X50mm

Is there any movement at this time for VDJ to support the MC7000?
If the built and sound quality of this is pretty much the same as the MCX8k, I see greater value on the dual USB audio inputs than the external displays/'engine' because for video DJs, a laptop is always a must anyways. Hence, a feature for standalone use is extraneous but a dual USB inputs offers more practical workflow possibilities.
This maybe what I need to go back to Denon. Got a MC6000 but my workhorse is a SX2 and I miss the upsides of the former (minus the size!)

I am also waiting for this. I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on the 8000, but am still looking for a used 6000. There is no way I would buy a 6000MK2, as they took away some of the features of the original. I may end up getting another 6000, and wait until Mobile Beat in Vegas to see if something new comes out from Denon.

Thing is at both my resident gigs the MC7000 or MCX8000 wouldn't fit in the DJ box. We really need a replacement for the MC6000 and Denon don't seem interested at all.

The MC7000 is just 1" deeper than a DDJ-SX2 (26.1"x 14.9"x 2.8" vs. 26.1"x 13.9"x2.8", respectively).

I also like the fact that the headphone monitor controls are on top of the unit rather than the front.

Hey,
my new Denon MC 7000 has arrived, can I help Atomix somehow with the mapping?

Bumping this thread up, for whatever its worth, to facilitate Atomix's support for this controller. Mine is arriving soon and the box will remain unopened until my DJ software of choice becomes available (sooner I hope!).
Thanks VDJ. And a healthier, wealthier, happier New Year to all in this forum!

Also keen to help with mapping (n00b though). Seriously nice system, I felt the 8000 was just a bit bulky for me.

The asymmetrical layout is my main reservation with the unit, but I could probably get used to it in time.
How loose are the jog wheels compared to a DDJ-SX2? Loose enough to perform a good backspin?

I should have my 7000 very soon, glad to see a mapper is in the works. Had the 8000 sold it for the 7000 as a replacement for my 6000 which still works wonderfully, but I think its time to move it to a backup position or even a ceremony/cocktail piece as well.
since it is so similar, Is it presumptuous to assume that the 7000 mapping will be very similar to the 8K...just no screens right?

Bump thread - mine arrived few hours ago - it feels and looks great, can't wait to use it with VDJ 8.2! + unofficial news - new build of vdj 8.2 will natively support the mc7000! Still dunno when the new build will be released :/

I too own the mc7000 and am waiting for it to have a mapping. Do you know for sure that it will be supported in the next build or is this just guesswork?

VDJ staff person told me so. So one might say it's rather probable ;) Still I think it's just maybe an hour max long editing of mcx8000 mapping and it's done. If someone posted the mapping and device files I would done it myself...

Sounds promising :-)
Fingers crossed that it's soon. I've created my own midi mapping which has pretty much everything mapped for 2 decks so I can wait..... (No led feedback though, and couldn't get pitch faders to map correctly. I'm using deck 3 & 4 upfaders as a workaround. Dodgy but it works!)

This IS great (even if unofficial) news!
Anyone have any custom road case design ideas? I need a keyboard and mouse, I don't use the laptop shelf types, mostly because that's what everyone else does.

Has anyone tried editing the mcx8000 mapping and device file to match those on mc7000? should be a few minutes of work but i don't have the device file whitch contains the translation from raw midi digits to denon buttons syntax. Anyone?
