Hello,
when i try to add elements, it doesn't give me any options like resize or snap to the grid.
even when I select what I want to do like mirror or clone in the groups tab there is no effect.

There is no snap to grid feature. Grid is drawn to help having a clue when positioning
For the rest, u probably need to read instructions... https://virtualdj.com/forums/214132/VirtualDJ_Skins/Skin_Builder.html?page=1

Hi there. I might be asking for something crazy, and I really hope this isn't taken the wrong way.
Would it be possible to release the source code files?
I’d like to modify and update the program so I can change the skin colors—both the official ones and those released by other users.
I have no programming experience, but these days, with AI, nothing is impossible.
Thanks a lot!

You can change skin colours without needing this program.
Do you mean the main skin background colour, or the colours of other parts?

Like this?
maybe I have spent hours getting it, maybe I inform myself and document a lot to get things for myself and I only resort to the help of the community when I can't find the solution....
In this specific case my intention is to automate and make the editing process on notepad much more intuitive.
And if it were possible to do what I want it would go from costing 4-5-8-10 hours to costing 1 or 2.
I don't know how to program, I use AI to do things that I would never have imagined I would be able to achieve.
if I answer, I assume that they have already read and researched and I provide ideas or solutions, and if I think they are looking for things done, I do not answer...But believe me, what I don't do is waste time telling them to read the instructions...
I don't think that contributes anything.
Still, thanks for your "contribution"

Changing skin colours does not require programming skills or take many hours.
From your other post:
"it’s really hard for me to give all the data and instructions to the AI to teach it how the skin works and make it understand which lines and definitions correspond to each thing"
If you want to put your trust in AI rather than an experienced human, that's your choice.

Hello again,
First I think I have to admit that I was a bit rough/tough with my previous message.
I don't know if I'll get you to understand me, to support me, I'll rule it out.
I understand your position that a program like skin builder extractor is not necessary
in the mod that you show me you have added a menu with the basic color options to modify the background, as we both know there will be several backgrounds: the one on the leather, the one on the mixer, the racks on the decks...surely something else...
You have done it on the official skin and the pro version, that xml is about 6k lines, and it is quite basic (although complete) in terms of customization options and extras.
I would like you to understand that I want the program because it can customize each and every one of the different colors of the different parts that make up each element of the skin.
As if that were not enough, it allows you to make gradients, something that I have already begun to incorporate into my mods...
In my case the xml is the latest version of Dennyo's project control, it is true that in the default skin the different layouts are separated into different xml, and the Project control encompasses all the layouts and their variables in a single 30k xml lines which makes it quite heavy and arduous to modify it.
To that we must add that I have modified much more than the background, to summarize I think there will be little else unmodified besides the color of the texts. everything else is changed.
I have focused on modifying the daylight color scheme but I have also done it with the colors of the wave silhouettes...
You have used basic color definitions, and I have used gradients, and it is very difficult to use an editor in which you cannot see the colors you are looking at, you have to find out the color externally before editing the code.
With all this I try to explain to you that although at this point I know how it is done and in fact I do it, the SBE could make all the work much more visual and above all easy and would allow automation and generalization so that everyone is able to use it, the arduous process involved in these modifications in a text editor.
In fact, I don't know the reasons why it stopped being developed, but if the program was created at the time and the option to do it in a text editor already existed, I think it contradicts your statement that it is not necessary, DJDAD took the trouble to do it and I'm sure he didn't think it was unnecessary.
As for leaving my criteria in the hands of AI, I must clarify that the use of AI is only for the programming and editing part of app code, before having that tool I would never have been able to face the challenge of learning to compile programming, etc etc....neither by knowledge, nor by level of difficulty, nor by learning curve nor by time available for it.
With it I managed to create pluggins for virtual that automate the process of replacing duplicate songs in the DB and choosing if I keep the metadata of the old one witch i ´m going to delete and the substitution in the virtual lists, managing for donn´t loose cues pois etc, very usseful when you want to replace mp3 for a flac, and you don't want to loose cues, pois, times played, linked, inclusion in virtual folders..etc...
Another thing I did was an interactive mapper, I leave you some photos, it allows you to load a mapper and when you leave the mouse on top of each control it shows the mapping code and you can edit from there, I even implemented midi communication so that you could interact in live with VDJ.
I would like with this long post, for you to understand that theoretically it can be done without SBE - but when complexity increases and you want to go further, this program has big potential and usefullness and it would be a great advance to be able to have the binaries to try to improve it and expand its functionality.
If you have made it to the end...it is already appreciated....
greetings

I didn't say the Skin Builder was unnecessary. I said that for your request (change the skin colours) it was not required. As the name implies, it's for building skins. In your case the skin is already built.
The picture I posted was just an example. I added the code in a few minutes. If you look closely there are other modifications too - all done without using any special software program.

Ok you're right!!...
Don't will waste more time to talk about this endless discussion...
You do easy because are so smart... I don't...
So hope @DJDAD have mercy on me and would share me the binaries,
If this don't be possible maybe can try some ideas, for use SBE for view and select the colours, save profile and use the profile for modify my skin mod ...like a translator....
So rustic but better than text editor, perfectly for no smart and sloth guys like me ...
HND!!
