Hi All
I want to use Virtual DJ 8 and would go with the Monthly paid edition ,
I will be using a DVS System , I have 2 ... One is the Intimidation unit and the other is the DVS built into My Numark Mixer , Both work great with Virtual DJ 7 as I bought these of someone who uses VDJ 7 ( not sure if it was pro or normal ... or even lite , )
Now I've just bought a Reloop RP-8000 to go with the setup , and there is a Firmware update for the Turntable ... Going on the Reloop Forum and reading about the update it
say's ...
" Firmware update and instructions can be found here: http://www.reloop.com/reloop-rp-8000#download
Note: The SDJ 1.7 Public Beta is required for this firmware update! http://sera.to/-b43l
Older versions of SeratoDJ might cause problems. "
By the looks of it ... It seems I need Serato to update the Turntable , But I dont want to go the Serato route , Can I update the Firmware without using Serato and then buy
Virtual DJ to use My RP-8000 ?
Sorry for all the babble but I'm a little confused and dont want to update the Firmware without being 100% Sure ,
Huge Thanks for reading this and hope you can help :)
Regards ,

The RP-8000 is natively supported in VDJ so you won't need Serato at all.
You can try your setup for 10 minutes at a time in the home version to see if everything works before purchasing a subscription.

The firmware needs to be updated to the latest version, so that the BPM/Pitch values to be displayed on the LCD of the unit.
Download the zip file from http://www.reloop.com/reloop-rp-8000#download
Unzip the file to a folder.
There is Readme.txt file with instructions...
Steps:
1. Power off the RP8000
2. Connect the RP8000 via USB
3. Hold down the TRAX-encoder+USER-button while powering on
4. Open the Upgrade ReloopFirmwareUpdateApp tool (Requires Java)
5. Click on "Open File" and select the firmware *.bin file
6. Click on "Start >"
The RP8000 will do a reboot once the firmware was proceeded successfully.
PS. You will not be able to use the RP-8000 as MIDI (Pads, LCD screen etc) in VirtualDJ 7, so if you just want to use those with Timecodes, the firmware update will not offer any change. The unit is supported as MIDI only in Version 8.
You can download Version 8 from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/index.html and give it a try in Trial mode. If you like how they work in VirtualDJ, you will need to purchase a Pro infinity or a Pro subscription license in order to use them fully.
