I got the v8 update but now I can't get any sound from the program. I've tried configuring but nothing seems to work. my v7 program comes in and works just fine so why doesn't my v8 work?

Have you setup the audio to suit your needs?
You could try posting a screenshot of your audio settings page, and then explain which hardware you are trying to use with VDJ
