I'm wondering,
I have the following set ups depending on the gig:
CDJs (USB)
Virtual DJ & CDJ's (HID)
Virtual DJ & Controller
I absolutely hammer hotcues all the time and I've noticed a slight variation between the VDJ smartcue and Pioneer's CDJ quantize
The VDJ smartcue will instantly change the track position once the hotcue is pressed, while maintaining the beatgrid; meaning if you press it slightly early, the track will jump to that time just before the position of the hotcue.
The Pioneer quantize will not move the track position until the hotcue reaches the track position, ensuring the track position is only ever changed in line with the quantize value.
I actually prefer the VDJ method most of the time but whenever I have VDJ hooked up into the CDJ's I can forget to expect the VDJ smartcue method, causing me to make some unpleasant errors.
I'm not sure how difficult it would be, but would it be possible to maybe get an option in the settings to switch between the two methods?
