Topic: External Harddrive w/ Mac Pro

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

This has probably been discussed before, but I'm fairly new to Djing and I need some info. Is there a way to save the bpm's of my songs. Every time I start up virtual dj, I have to re-analyze all my tracks for bpm's. What do I need to do so I don't have to do this all the time. I'm on a 2015 Mac Pro

Thanks in advance

Since it’s an external drive, VDJ needs to write its database to that drive. Which means you need write access to the drive. I’m not a Mac user but believe if the external drive if formatted for NTFS (the Windows file system), your Mac will not be able to write to it.

First of all check the drive permissions. If it is in the incorrect format there are programs for Mac that will allow read/write access to Windows formatted drives. Or you could just reformat it to Mac.

Macs can read external NTFS formatted Windows drives, but, can't write to them.

There are two ways of getting around that;
1. Reformat the drive to Fat or Fat32
2. Install Paragon's NTFS for Mac.

I've used Paragon since I bought my Mac in 2010. Never had a problem, works great. Cost around £15 (UK pounds).
