This will be not about VDJ but about technical problems with controller.
Recently bought 2 old controllers from Reloop. Contour Interface Edition (IE) and Contour Contoller Edition (CE). They are the same besides IE has audio interface and needs to install driver.
No problem with CE - found by Windows 10 and working in VDJ. But IE is not recognized. It switches on but does not shows in device manager. Tried install latest driver found on Reloop site. Does not installs. "Time out error"
To be clear I tried usual things:
* different usb cables
* differnet usb ports
* diffrent PCs
* removed unused USB composite Devices from device manager
* tried even on windows7 and mac osx
No luck ..
Spoke to Reloop. They suggested to try to check firmware and load new one. Upgrader is java based - it runs (win10 and win7) but shows nothing about controller (fw version etc.) and it is not possible to load new one.
Somehow want to run this java upgrader .. As I understand in worst case scenario internal chip is dead ..
Maybe someone has the same controller? Has experience with upgrading this controllers firmware? any help will be appreciated!

If the computer does not see the controller, you probably need some help from Reloop.
Can always try connect it to other usb port, in case the computer is "confused" on the port you used if you had 2 very similar controllers connected
