stupid question i cant get my album art to show anymore. Even tried older skins, various other methods, suggestions - above the search bar

Show where? on decks or at a controller jogs?
Or the "coverflow" top of browser area?
Guessing its the coverflow one, some skins tailored for more pro use often are made to be a bit more "streamlined and clean"
So coverlow might not be showing as default. But you can turn this on in settings, search for coverflow
After that you'll be able to drag and resize from the very top of the browser
