read a few tut's on vdj 6,7,8 but in 2021 (8.5) dropping vsts into
C:\Users\user\Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins64\SoundEffect
or
C:\Users\user\Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins32\SoundEffect
doesn't populate them under the effects dropdown? Was support for this dropped?

one tut said I could use camelcrusher. Which I installed from here

nop not only the dll, it needs siome external datas
install it with the installer in \Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins64\SoundEffect
or
copy the dll to Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins64\SoundEffect
create a link to ProgramData\Camel Audio\CamelCrusherData with the name "CamelCrusherData" in the folder you install the dll

@ThistleKnot I have not tried to install CamelCrusher, but it should appear in the FX Effects drop down.
You show the Padpages Drop down in your photo. (since it is NOT a Padpage, would not appear there)
Check the FX effects drop down. I am interested if its there.

as IIDEEJAYII said : you are showing pad pages not effect selection
and all your other VST won't show : they are vst3 as VDJ only supports VST but NOT VST3
