Running ddj1000 , volume level on faders are not responding instantly. Fader is at 3rd line then you can hear the music. Any ideas?

Not sure I understood the 3rd fader...
But in VirtualDJ settings, in options search for controllerTakeoverMode and set that to instant ...
Is that more like you want?
The take over mode is there to prevent "accidents" such as big jumps in tempo, when software fader position doesnt match hardware fader position, and nothing will happen until hardware position "picks up" software position. ..

I guess you could also mean that the first third of the way nothing happens. That is very common and how a lot of people prefer it. You can change the faderCurve setting to get another curve for how your faders act - like maybe linear

Yes, most likely you want to change faderCurve setting as already suggested above.
