I have the numark platinum fx controller but when I have a xlr mic plugged in it dont seem to want to work when I try live streaming any help would be appreciated thanks

I doubt that is possible
A lot of controllers send the mic input straight to master output - so in a conventional setup it never reaches the laptop

Indeed. Some controllers offer an internal loopback record input in that case, but it doesn't look like the platinum fx does.
So either you have to split the output from the platinum so that it can go back to your pc input and your speakers, or you have to connect the mic to the pc so that it passes the pc as well.

When I stream I use a lucky voice from gear 4 for the mic it has two 1/4 mic sockets with echo and the back has audio out and music in ( no need to use music in just the audio out )and it is easy to set up in vdj set the mic as high definition audio device (WASPI ) in windows from the unit audio out the cable goes into line in on the computer but you need to switch the mic on in the master settings on the skin the mic I use is a sure c606 and works a treat.
