Is there a method to turn off auto-dim via script?
or to allow the full brightness on a padpage under some conditions when auto-dim is enabled?
(a way to over ride the padpage auto-dim)
ie logic is:
var myvar ? No auto-dim and color2 when action2 : padpage w auto-dim, normal color when action1

The only way would be to edit the given page, turn off auto-dim and control manually the color for all possible conditions (e.g. providing full color, providing the dim color when no action is active e.t.c.)
