Topic: Askthedj not working with cellphones
Its been reported that ask.the.dj seem to be not working with cellphones, but it works from pc, anyone notice this problem, and is there a fix. Some of my radio fans seem to be having trouble sending requests. The askthedj page will not load when they press the http://ask.the.dj link, instead they get a blank page with a "Your connection was interrupted" error.

Working fine here in the UK. Samsung galaxy Note 20 Ultral and Samsung internet browser.
 
I have a few fan using Chrome this is getting blank page.
 
Just tested using the latest Chrome Android version and it's fine.

You need to be more specific about which phones they are using, if it's iphones then I can't test that.
 
Now that's weird. It seems the URL you end up at is HTTPS but to get there you have to use HTTP.

Working on Chrome with iPhone 14 Pro Max (as long as you use http://)
 
Maybe something Rune needs to look in to.
 
@Dfyffe maybe it's an issue with either the cellphone provider those people use, or the internet in their (or your) area. Both kradcliffe and I are in the UK so it may be an issue on your side of the pond.
 
So this is weird, one of the fan having this problem is in Spain using chrome with android, one is in the UK using safari, the other is in US using chrome with android, I myself tried it with chrome on my android phone and it did not work, I notice if I use the Whatsapp link http://ask.the.dj/dfyffe it does not work, but if I go to the browser and type the same thing in the address line, it works. The others that are complaining is all using the Whatsapp link.
 
Not sure what you mean by a "Whatsapp link" (as you posted a standard URL) but then maybe the issue is with Whatsapp.

We use the WhatsApp apk for chatting with the fans.
 
That's probably it then. They need to use a normal browser.

Maybe a mod can change the thread title to "Askthedj not working with WhatsApp". :-)
 
WhatsApp is not a browser, its a multi platform messaging and calling service. but its it work with askthedj for some people, similar to Skype, it only direct the askthedj link to a browser, so they are using a normal browser.
 
probably needs https for auto preview of site, inside WhatsApp.
We'll look into it
 
 
I noticed that although my link to askthedj is http, for some reason the browser is showing https, not sure why, even if I type http it's automatically converted to https.
