I turn on the Echo effect, remove the fader and the sound disappears completely. The echo does not remain. Post-fader is enabled in the fx processing settings. Everything works fine without a controller. The Roland 707 also works fine. VDJ 7692 macos Ventura 13.4.1

Are you sure your sound settings are correct ?
For post fader effects to work, the sound setup must be "Master+Headphones" which also is the default sound setup of DDJ-RR

Probably not related, but is your PCMIX switch at the rear panel set to ON ?
Do you get other Post-fader Effects like Reverb ? Or is it just the Echo that doesnt work as such ?

I tried switching PCMIX to ON and OFF position. It didn't do anything
Other effects after the fader, such as reverberation, don't work either. But, they work after pressing Play/pause🤷🏻♂️

VDJ Settings ->MAPPING tab...
The action of the ONINIT key of the DDJ-RR, starts with .. fake_mixer on & ... . Can you change it to ... fake_mixer off & ... , restart VDJ and see if still the same ?
