I am an internet radio presenter who uses SAM Broadcaster DJ Live when broadcasting live, but also pre-records some other shows in Audacity for airing at later dates. I want to find an alternative to SAM Broadcaster (Spacial) for a certain circumstance and all I need the software to be able to do is: load audio tracks (mainly mp3) and cue them in order; crossfade some files either automatically or manually; back anno voice narration via a USB mic. (In other words the basic operations for any DJ at a party!). One added benefit would be if the whole outgoing sound - music and voice - could be recorded/archived. Is Virtual DJ the thing for me? Vdj will do all that, of the radio pro's I've worked with, they say they use vdj because "it just plays anything, zero fuss"
I'm not sure about the zero fuss bit, everybody has teething issues or weird one off practices nobody else uses but get those initial issues sorted out then it really is zero fuss.
