Topic: Library Browser // Show Soundswitch Script Status
Hi all,

as I use Soundswitch along with Virtual DJ, I would like to see a status icon in my library, if a Soundswitch script is present to my music. The status can be checked against the MP3 tag, which contains a "new" field, which is called "SOUNDSWITCH_ID".
Virtual DJ should check, if this field contains a value and then maybe show a Soundswitch Icon to visualize that a light script is present.

Yeah plus 1 from me on this as well.

Somehow Engine has been able to do this.

SoundSwitch and Denon DJ are both under the InMusic brand so working together/integration is more natural (Engine might even be reading the SoundSwitch database directly and creating its own indicators for Standalone playback).

+1 here too, although I think this a collaborative effort with SoundSwitch/not only on Atomix/VirtualDJ.

A workaround that I use currently - I just put all my SoundSwitch scripted music in a List Folder called SoundSwitch and also add a #SoundSwitch hashtag to them, then script them in SoundSwitch. I have a QuickFilter button looking for that hashtag to narrow down the results.

I don't know what's going to happen.

But VirtualDJ generally does not like to "mess around" with custom frames on ID3 tags.
And by your description it seems that Soundswitch does exactly that: Adds a custom frame on the songs.

Again I'm not saying that VirtualDJ will or won't implement this. I'm just saying that the way it's done, is not the best.

SoundSwitch does add a custom one as OP described (the value looks like GUID between curly braces). Probably no harm in just checking if that tag frame exists, although it's presence doesn't mean there is a script though (didn't see anything indicating actual scripting data, the file could have come that way whether or not SoundSwitch is installed/has a script for it).
